Main Line depot upgrades on be- half of Alstom Transport, to fa- cilitate the 11-car Pendolino Train Integration programme.
In 2005 an additional mainte- nance facility was constructed ad- jacent to the existing maintenance sheds in the Midland Traincare Centre. This facility was designed to service and maintain the nine- car Pendolino sets and is equipped with a paint spray booth and a bo- gie drop.

Other associated works were also
completed, such as new track crossings and catering platform extensions, all associated with the new 11-car Pendolino train sets.
Glen Powell, site services manager at Midland Traincare Centre, said: “These works are proving a great addition to our depot services, al- lowing us to be better equipped to meet the schedules as demanded by the train regulator.”
This project has been constructed and delivered within a known but demanding programme. It is only with the co-operation of the Mid-
