But Gareth’s Bowens aspirations don’t end there. He fully anticipates an upgrade in the months ahead. “I’ve used a QuadX pack with the compact heads and the ring flash, which is fantastic. If you want to light something simply and really capture the moment, this set up will allow you to do just that. I’ll certainly be investing in one of those sometime soon.”


Gareth will readily admit that just three years into his full-time photography career, he’s very much at the start of his own personal journey. Quite where it will take him in the next few years is anybody’s guess as he takes a remarkably philosophical view to his skills. “I’ve been blessed with an ability at photography,” he acknowledges. “It’s something you can take anywhere in the world and you don’t need any qualifications for – all you need is a good eye. Photography to me is just one helluva cool journey...it’s a trip which only has beginnings; never an end.”
