I think it is this understanding of the play of light on subjects which results in images that are realistic and believable.

I created the green globe in Photoshop with a circular mask and airbrush techniques. This is then overlaid on to the model’s hands and the opacity reduced, so her fingers are transparent and this will allow for cutting out of the top layer globe to sit snugly behind her fingers.

Stage Six - At this stage most of the background elements are in place and some balancing of the sky and the shafts of light have been added.

Stage Seven - I think though that another tree is needed on the picture’s left hand side to add a little height. This really is the full image now with all of the layers in place.

Stage Eight - Now I start to add the glow to the crystal ball. This has a fairly intensive glow and as the sky and overall picture feel has a darkened sense of drama there should be a realistic glow to her face and shoulders and a little cast onto the hair.

Another layer is created and in the blending modes it is set to overlay. The colour is sampled from the globe and airbrushed into and on the relevant areas to create realism. Subtle lighting effects both for people and products are really the Nader modus operandi....I think it is this understanding of the play of light on subjects which results in images that are realistic and believable.
