When it comes to shooting portraits, the Streamlites will be fine, just don’t expect to achieve the more subtle results that you can with flash and its range of specialist accessories. Using a Streamlite, front on with the shower cap diffuser will produce a very nice, clean and even head and shoulders portrait or small family group shot.
The obvious application for the Streamlites will be to shoot small objects with the Cocoon light tent. Again, its so straightforward using continuous light and I know quite a few photographers who prefer to use them instead of flash for that purpose. It’s the speed and efficiency and the quality that appeals to
photographers, to be able to pop something in the Cocoon and shoot it knowing that the results will be spot on. I’ve recommended continuous lighting to a lot of people who sell things online and the Streamlite kits will be perfect for that too. Whether you shoot clothing on mannequins, small antiques and collectables, or book covers, the Streamlite will be quick and easy to use and give you the top quality images you need.
When you’ve finished it can all be packed away in a corner, making it ideal for people who don’t have much studio space.
I reckon that the Streamlites will do
well in the digital world of camera and phone camera technology that we now inhabit. We seem to live in a very fast moving world where images must be shot as quickly as possible and posted onto the web or emailed within minutes. The technology, design and efficiency of the Streamlites make them the perfect tool for the job.
