Subtle lighting effects both for people and products are really the Nader modus operandi....

Stage Two - Once the image is cut out and on a layer you should have a transparent layer to add images behind enabling you to build the composite.

The material is moved and shaped a little more to create a better movement, this was done with the liquify and warp tools.

It’s all about the silk.

And although the model was in a custom outfit designed by the company, there just wasn’t enough silk on show - so here I cut it out four times and then overlaid it to give the impression of a greater spread of material.

It has been cut, edited and pasted into position with edges cleaned and

feathered to blend into the underlying layers. This was achieved using the eraser tool with a soft feather so it blends well.

Stage Three - In this image the sky has been added (taken from one of my stock images).

It has some compelling moody formations but it also has a hot spot which will allow me to create some light shafts to add drama in the finishing stages.

The clouds are flat in exposure and this will be controlled later.

Stages Four & Five - are where I bring in the background information. This is built up in layers with a degree of blurring on each of these to create lack of depth of field.

The images are all either brought in to their own layer as a mask or added and feathered to blend them into the location and make them look natural.

At this stage the colours and contrasts of all elements are changed, opacity; saturation; selective colour changes; contrasts and brightness. This allows me to see if they work together and allows the picture to be processed to the next stage.

It is at this stage that I will get the client’s nod to carry on. I also work on the globe that the model is holding. You can see it doesn’t really have the look that we need – however, it was important to get the model to hold something with mass so we could get a realistic effect of weight on her arm and fingers.
