WINS AWARD Leeds-based mobile coffee retailer Cafe2U has scooped an award for 'Best Newcomer' at the Yorkshire Business Master awards held in Leeds at the end of June.

Cafe2U sells franchises to operate custom built coffee vans in exclusive territories selling gourmet hot drinks and other snacks and food to around 45,000 customers across the UK each week. The company, originally formed in Australia, was brought to the UK by Leeds Metropolitan University hospitality graduate Tom Acland in 2005, when he fell in love with the coffees he bought from a Cafe2U van in Sydney. Restaurant Design Associates (RDA), a family firm set up in 2007 and based in South Tyneside, is celebrating a thriving first quarter of 2010, announcing sales of more than £1million, despite the challenging economic climate. The company has a wealth of experience in the design of catering and retail facilities for clients including multi- national blue chip companies, educational and NHS Trusts, contract caterers and private businesses throughout the UK. One of its longest running contracts is with Costa Coffee. Since securing the contract in early 2008, RDA has designed, project-managed and installed Costa Coffee interiors in locations throughout the country including Ealing, Winchester, Derby, Leeds, York, Blackpool, Basingstoke, Portsmouth and Nottingham. With the contract recently renewed, the firm has installed a 70-seat Costa Coffee interior in the University of Warwick, which is one of the biggest in the UK. RDA has also worked with Compass Group to design and install a Costa Coffee and a new Costa Café/Delibar within Leeds General Infirmary, and is now designing Costa Coffee
