wrong impression about WWOOFing. I just had three young women who came to WWOOF and left after two days because they were expecting a cheap sightseeing tour. I wonder where they got this impression— if it came from a magazine like yours.

My partner, Ryan, and I love your articles about traveling with infants and young children. We have an eight-month-old son, Rowan, and are getting married this September. We want our honeymoon to be volunteer-service inspired. We have been doing research, but have had a difficult time finding an organization that would allow us to travel and volunteer as a family. “Monkeys, Mangoes, and Machetes” provided both the inspiration and informa- tion we needed to start planning our own family WWOOF volunteer trip.

My five-year-old daughter was busy with her dollhouse when I looked over and noticed that all eight of the dolls were in the doll- house bathroom. “What’s going on?” I asked my daughter. She told me that the mother was giving birth in the bathtub, and that her whole family was there to watch and help catch the baby. How terrific is that? Thank you, Mothering, for helping me find the courage to deliver my son at home, with my daughter leaning over the side of the tub to watch. To her, it is the only normal way to birth.
