ALUMNI BRAD EVANS: London

Alum Brad Evans is the first graduate of Jessup’s Archaeology program. He was accepted at the University of Sheffield, England where he started their MA Archaeology program last fall.

"This program at the University of Sheffield is one of the best in the U.K. ,” said Dr. Cynthia Shafer- Elliott. “For WJU's first archaeology student to get accepted there is a big deal! Brad worked very hard to get where he is and continues to be a fine example of persistence through all of life's trials. Our department couldn't be more proud of him."

ZAC GRAVES:

Journey to The Holy Land

From the classroom to the Holy Land, alum Zak Graves (’14) recently put his education to work leading a tour for a pastor familiar- ization trip. These tours focus on bringing pastors, students and all interested parties to Israel to provide them a grounded, pow- erful experience walking the steps that Jesus walked in one of the most biblically rich regions of the world. Tasked with equipping others to lead

tours, Zak’s information-packed trip entailed reworking 10 days of content into five days in an effort to determine the best structure and study material for tour participants. Zak describes, “The tour itself is a fantas-

tic combination of viewing historical sights, teaching one another as a sort of pastor's retreat, and volunteering with organizations like Helping Hands (assisting Holocaust survivors), Joseph Project (assisting immi- grants), and Aliyah Return Center (assisting immigrants).” Some of the areas included in the tour

were Joppa, Caesarea, Nazareth and Naza- reth Village, Jordan River, Qumran, Jerusalem including the Old City, the Israel Museum, and many more sights along the way.
