Cimarron Electric Cooperative

October 2016 www.cimarronelectric.com Annual Meeting is Short and Sweet

youngest in attendance was Zita Ingle, 2 months old! Their pictures are on page 2.

Cimarron Electric CEO, Mark Snowden ex- plained the great things that happened over the past year, even though we finished out the year with back to back ice storms to end 2015.

He also said that the upgrades we have been working on over the past 3 years kept the two bad ice storms from being record setting, disastrous ice storms. There was a difference in the amount of damage from the old lines and the new stronger hardened lines we have been working on.

Mr. Snowden concluded his remarks by touching on the 3 most important task CEC employees do for our members each day. 1. Bring you reliable electricity that’s there when you need it.

Cimarron Electric members from all nine districts met in Kingfisher on September 8th for the coop- erative’s 80th annual meeting.

Door prizes were presented to members as they came in. After registering, everyone was served Bar-be-que sandwiches, chips, drinks and ice cream by the Cimarron Electric employees.

The Jackson Band provided great musical en- tertainment prior to the business meeting. The bands four members entertained with a variety of musical instruments and great vocals.

2. Keep the price down as much as we can. 3. Provide services for our members that have value, such as the new outage texting tool.

We had a good year financially and our board has reinvested that money into upgrading our lines and equipment. We are in the beginning stages of adding 3 substations to your power grid. These substations in the Geary, Omega and N. Kingfisher area will serve two purposes. One, to help us meet the rapid growing demand for power due to the oil/ gas activity. Second, they’ll help out linemen to shorten the time it takes to restore power in areas after massive storms.

Marketing Dir., Barry Haynie talked about a new outage texting tool that is virtually free and best of all, it’s fast. You now have the ability to text us when your electricity is off. We will text you back that your outage was reported. We will also text you again when power is restored! (go to page 2)
