www.connections.coop Co-op Connections One Million Dollars in Prescription Savings
TCEC members have saved more than one million dollars on prescriptions since the Co-op Connections prescriptions savings option was launched in 2008.
“We are a member of Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, which leverages a larger, national cooperative netowork,” said Chief Executive Offi cer Zac Perkins. “This program is a great example of how well the principle of Cooperation Among Cooperatives can work.”
Touchstone Energy Cooperatives created the Co-op Connections program in 2006 as a way to help cooperative members save on everyday items. Electric cooperatives can’t always control the rates members pay for electricity. They can help them save in other ways. From retail discounts at local stores, the program expanded to offer prescription savings. Today, it has many facets, including:
Co-op Deals - more than 33,000 offers from local businesses that electric cooperatives have arranged, plus about 100 national deals
Healthy Savings - discounts on prescriptions, dental, vision, hearing, lab work and imaging and chiropractor visits Partner Deals - this section includes the Cash Back Mall, where you earn cash back on purchases when you use the free
shopping assistant, and
Coupons.com, where you can print hundreds of free grocery coupons.
Business owners who would like to participate in Co-op Connections can fi ll out a simple two page agreement with the offer they’d like to make to
members.They can change or cancel it anytime and there’s no cost to participate in the program. In return for their participation, businesses are listed on the
Connections.coop website and on the printed discounts list TCEC gives every new member and distributes at events like its annual meeting. The cooperative features businesses in this newsletter and in other ways.
