May 2015 Summer fun on tap for Youth Tour winners T


hanks to Northwestern Electric and its proud tradition of sup- porting the youth in its service


territory, Madison Evans and Morgan Miller won’t have to worry about finding something exciting to do this summer.


Madison and Morgan won an all- expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., along with a $500 scholarship. They will spend six fun-filled days in June touring the nation’s capital. Barrett Cosby and Mercy Bhakta captured a spot at the 2016 Touchstone Energy Leadership Summit along with a $500 college scholarship. Madison is the daughter of James and Lisa Evans of Vici and Morgan is the daughter of Buck and Mary Miller from Buffalo. Barrett is also from Buffalo and his parents are Bret


Madison Evans, Morgan Miller, Barrett Cosby and Mercy Bhakta competed in NWEC’s 2015 Youth Tour contest. Madison and Morgan will represent NWEC during this year’s Washington Youth Tour. Barrett and Mercy earned a spot at the 2016 Touchstone Energy Leadership Summit. All four students will receive a $500 college scholarship for being one of the finalists.

NWEC announced the 2015 Fanning-Fussell Scholarship winners during its annual meeting held on Apr. 9. This year’s recipients are Corian England, Bailey Poer, Katelyn Cutsinger, Alma Rios, Maci Stuart, Karly Gillispie, Blair Peoples and Macey Ford. Kadee Kenny and Neal Freeman were unable to attend the meeting.

Blair’s parents are Eric and Donna Peoples, Vici. Macey is the daughter of Steve and Erika Ford, Woodward. Kadee is the daughter of Jeff and Lori Kenny of Woodward and Neal is the son of Dwight and Georgia Freeman, Laverne. (7343001)


Northwestern Electric established the scholarship in 2001 in memory of Max Fanning and in honor of Thurman Fussell.
