KOCEL CSR Foundry Limited (KCF), the only 3-D
printing industrialization base in China, has manufactured the first batch of 3-D printing products which will be used in the foundry industry. After the products are put on the market, it will mark a breakthrough of the application of 3-D printing technology in foundry industrialization. Tese locomotive engine parts will be delivered to Ziyang
Zhongche Locomotive Co., Ltd. To deliver the products on time, KOCEL CSR Foundry Limited (KCF) has been in operation with 24-hour shifts during the whole Spring Festival. Due to the implementation of “green manufacturing” and “intelligent manufacturing,” the leading role in manu- facturing are no longer workers, but intelligent machines in this regard, it now just needs half of the staff to produce the same quantity of products. 3-D printing helps realize green manufacturing by reducing labor costs and emissions, while greatly improving the finished products rate. Te director of Intelligent Manufacturing Department, KOCEL CSR Foundry Limited (KCF) Mr. Li Zhaoqi said, taking engine cylinder head, for example, the rate of finished products was less than 60%, and it has increased to above 95% after the use of 3-D printing. ■
