EXHIBITOR PROFILE HILTI continued

A screen on the DD 250 drill motor enables users to monitor the tool’s operation.

gearing can be selected. It also shows whether the operator is exerting too little or excessive pressure, and indicates when an optimum force is being applied. Also, a slow-start function enables the tool to run at 10% speed while the cut is established. To facilitate maintenance, the electronic system

tracks how long the machine has been run, and it can communicate via an app called Hilti Assistant to access advice on tool use, appropriate Health & Safety measures such as dust control management and other information.

Two new drill/drivers will be included in the manufacturer’s Show line-up. The SF 6-A22 is a rotary-only model that replaces the SF 22A, while the SFH 6-A22, which also incorporates hammer action, supersedes the SF H22A. Their chief new characteristics are increased power, owing to the use of the latest generation of batteries, and they now have the ATC system.

Hilti’s National Tool Hire Manager (UK), Walid Hussain, told EHN that the number of battery powered tools that the company is introducing shows the greater performance that is now available, as well as the growing interest from hirers and end users. “Cordless tools represent an excellent opportunity for hire companies because of their versatility. They can offer a range of equipment to a customer for various tasks they are undertaking on a site, and also supply them with an aopropriate number of batteries and chargers which can be swapped between them as necessary. This can be a more efficient way of working, is easier to manage and our ON:Track! asset management system enables hirers to monitor all the equipment.”
