Generator Power increases Atlas Copco fleet
Specialist hirer, Generator Power, recently took delivery of ten new Atlas Copco QAC1000 generators in an investment said to be worth over £1.5m. The machines have a Cummins engine with a variable speed fan, designed to reduce fuel consumption and noise levels. Generator Power as a major player in the larger ‘containerised’ generator rental market.” The new sets have already been hired to customers in the utilities, hospital, facilities management and industrial markets.
Passionate Hirer Awards 2017 nominations
Seven hirers have been shortlisted for this year’s Executive Hire Show Passionate Hirer Awards, which will be presented during the evening Party on the first day. They are: Artisan Hire, Yate; Avon Tools Hire, Bath; Beaver Hire, Chichester; Lord Hire Centres, Newcastle; Luscombe Plant, Ulverston; Peter Lucas Tool Hire, Llandudno Junction; and Skipton Hire Centres, Yorkshire. Nominations were made by our team of six National Visitor Campaign Managers
following their hundreds of visits to hirers’ premises in the build-up to February’s Show and our autumn/winter regional Road Show events.
Hirer branches into chippers
HFC Hire Services, which supplies equipment and site accommodation from its location in Exeter, has established a partner company called Chipper Hire South West to meet demand for GreenMech machines in its fleet. “We were getting asked by contractors for a wood
chipper which would enable them to clear sites before proceeding with building work,” said Proprietor Col Bachmann, pictured, left, with Simon Newsome of local dealer, MST. The latest addition to the fleet is a tracked ArbTrak 150 model, which is reported to be proving popular with arborists and tree surgeons. The new business plans to increase its chipper fleet during the year ahead.
