SPARES AND ACCESSORIES Training

As well as servicing and calibration, understandin g h ow to use tools to achieve their optimum p erformance is also a great way to save time on site. For instance, understanding how to connect a vacuum pump and the principle of effi evacuation can save time and eff ort, as well as extending the life of the equipment. Simple tips such as increasing vacuum hose diameters and removing obstructions will reduce vacuum times b y hours and, in some cases, days.

principle of effi ffi cient

By using the correct vacuum set up on a large system, at Javac we have reduced an acceptable five-day evacuation down to two days and achieved a much better vacuum.

To help share top tips on product use, tool companies such as Javac are able to provide on- site training in the UK, off ering advice on product selection and application.

In addition to service and calibration, this all adds up to significant time-saving for engineers and improved tool performance on site. With the right toolbox and well-maintained tools, acr engineers can be sure to tick all the right boxes for clients.

Vacuum Pumps  Change oil regularly;

it is not just for

lubricating the moving parts but creates the vacuum by sealing the sliding vanes  Keep unit clean and tidy  Store correctly

 Don’t leave emulsifi ed oil in the pump over the weekend as it wrecks the internals, especially if the water vapour is slightly acidic

 Always ensure that the refrigerant is removed

completely and not frozen in the back of the system, otherwise it will lift the oil out of the

pump and cause a seizure if left unattended, invalidating the warranty

 When evacuating, for best

results use short large bore, 3/8 hoses and in-line Schrader valve removers
