Embraco
Embraco, the manufacturer of hermetic compressors for refrigeration, has introduced Toolbox, a digital tool that combines several features to support contractors in a single application.
Launched at Chillventa this year, the Toolbox App is available in all countries and in more than 10 languages.
It has, initially, seven key features: a search tool for the nearest distributor, Embraco product catalogue, cross-reference product guide, unit converter, refrigerant ruler, tool to identify causes of the main cooling system problems, as well as all Refrigeration Club content. The application’s launch will ensure access to practical and effi cient information and it can be accessed, at fi rst, via smartphones with iOS and Android operating systems, available for download in the App Store and Play Store.
A version for tablets will be available later this year. The Refrigeration Club (
darefrigeracao.com.br), the segment’s main information website, has a new look and many new features. The Product Selection Software replaces the electronic catalog and assists customers in selecting the most appropriate solutions for diff erent refrigeration systems.

Hitachi
Hitachi will launch its fi rst R32 air conditioning units onto the European market in 2017. The company introduced its fi rst series R32-RAC to the market in Japan in 2013. In Japan, the complete range of RAC products should be converted to R32 by 2017. In Europe the fi rst RAC series with R32 will be off ered as an entry-level model at the beginning of 2017.
The new RAC series with R32 will set itself apart from the current performance series with a new, elegant design.
Markus Schmitz, area sales manager heating of Hitachi Air Conditioning Europe SAS Branch offi ce Düsseldorf said: “With the introduction of the new R32-RAC series, we will continue the attractive price-performance ratio in this segment. This new refrigerant enables us to increase effi ciency by a whole level, to simultaneously reduce the GWP and therefore to act in a much more environmentally friendly manner.”
Honeywell
Honeywell has launched a new mobile application to provide refrigeration and air conditioning professionals with quick and accurate data for on-the-go decision-making. The new app, called Honeywell Refrigerant Selection Tool EU, is downloadable from iTunes and will be available for both iPhones and iPads.
Customers can conduct side-by-side comparisons for criteria such as capacity, effi ciency or GWP and the built-in refrigerant calculator helps to determine how much new refrigerant is needed to run the system. Contractors and end-users who want to ensure they are buying refrigerants that comply with the EU’s F-gas regulations can fi nd Honeywell Authorised Dealers anywhere in Europe via an integrated distributor locator.
With direct access to Honeywell’s library of documents, the app allows customers to download brochures, case studies, P/T charts and other documents on its refrigerants.

Unlike R410A, R32 is a mixture of R125 and R32, signifi cant advantages which do not aff ect the environment. Currently it is the only refrigerant which has almost the same temperature and pressure range as R410A. Furthermore, it is about 10 per cent more effi cient that R410A, resulting in a higher COP and EER. The pipeline cross-section, the compressor power and the fi lling capacity can be reduced by up to 30 percent in comparison with R410A.

Haier
Haier has launched two large capacity fridge-freezers. The Cube Series boasts a 456L net capacity which is split between three easily accessible compartments: the refrigerator, the freezer and the MyZone, an independently controlled
compartment. At the touch of a button, the temperature in the MyZone can be adjusted from -3° C to +5°C for ideal storage of various foods (fi sh, meats, desserts, vegetables). The Cube series off ers double cooling technology, which includes two cooling systems that control the refrigerator and freezer independently with separate evaporators.
