FEATURE REPORT PRODUCT NEWS The latest products from: Advanced Air

Why hide the services when they can be showcased in a striking artistic manner? This is the thinking of many architects and clients. Advanced Air has developed a range of fan coil units specifi cally aimed at this niche market requirement. The fan coil has to be streamlined to match a high aesthetic standard. All pipe work and electrical connections are located in one point at the rear of the unit to shorten

the distance between the fan coil and the centralised distribution network of pipes and cables.

The outer casing of the fan coil gives smooth lines to the unit and can be painted any colour or alternatively a metal polish fi nish. This arrangement can be more aesthetically pleasing and is a change from the bland appearance of a suspended ceiling where all the services are hidden.

The unit incorporates all of the standard components and includes an acoustic inbuilt attenuator and condensate pump. It can be supplied with internally mounted EPIV or PICV 2 port valve hook up sets and BAC net FCU controller. www.advancedair.co.uk

Biddle

Biddle has launched the next generation comfort air curtain, the SensAir. Designed with built-in intelligence, SensAir detects indoor and outdoor temperatures, self- adjusts its comfort settings and supplies

conditioned air at comfort levels that are perfect for your customer, whilst making considerable energy savings.

It is equipped with Biddle’s innovative auto active control, which incorporates technology that can ensure the perfect setting for any given indoor climate. Using i-sense, the SensAir measures indoor and outdoor temperatures active in the door opening, then provides data so that it can supply conditioned air at optimum temperature, volume and velocity. It provides evidence of comfort levels and energy effi ciency through the monitoring options available. While remote monitoring of the climate separations is possible through b-touch: SensAir’s touchscreen control, connecting to a BMS is easy through a standard Modbus protocol connection.

Danfoss Daikin

Following the introduction of R32 refrigerant-based direct expansion air conditioners and heat pumps under the Bluevolution technology range in Europe, Daikin has now launched a new SkyAir Seasonal Smart system cassette variant.

This cassette updates the Daikin original round fl ow cassette design and provides an environment-friendly technology alternative for a variety of light commercial applications such as for retail stores, restaurants and small offi ce spaces.

Accommodating cooling capacities from 6.8kW to 13.4kW, the Sky Air Bluevolution Cassette is an aff ordable, energy-effi cient, environment- friendly solution. With a 15% lower refrigerant charge, the system has no need for an annual refrigerant containment check. It works off a single phase, 220V-240V power supply voltage with a Seasonal Energy Effi ciency Ratio up to 7.35. The result is a signifi cant improvement in energy effi ciency and a 68% reduction in environmental impact compared to R410A equivalent products. www.daikineurope.com/bluevolution

For the third time this year, a range of Danfoss condensing units has been accepted on to the ETL approval list.

From 1 November 2016, all models of Danfoss Optyma Plus Inverter packaged units have been approved for ECA allowance. Paul Szyszczak, business area director at Danfoss commented: “With the addition of the Optyma Plus Inverter units, all three ranges of Danfoss packaged units are now eligible for an ECA allowance enabling end

users to choose exactly the refrigeration unit that is right for them”.

The Optyma Plus Inverter is ideal for applications involving multiple display cabinets and cold storage areas from a single condensing unit.

The adaptive package off ers maximum energy effi ciency and is suitable for medium and high temperature applications in the range of 2kW to 9kW at -10°C evaporating, 32°C ambient with R407A/R407F and R404A.
