Panasonic was established in 1929 by Konosuke Matsushita. It was at this time that the corporation’s management objective was born - “recognising our responsibilities as industrialists, we will devote ourselves to the progress and development of society and the well-being of people through our business activities, thereby enhancing the quality of life throughout the world.”

Panasonic created a diverse network of production and research and development

facilities in its succeeding years. This set up has allowed it to deliver innovative products and cutting edge technologies that set the standard for heating and air conditioning products worldwide.

Timeline of product development 1936 Panasonic’s first heating and cooling product is born - a 36cm table top electric fan with automatic oscillation.

1958 The first room air conditioner is launched for domestic installation. Air conditioners were, until this point, very large and only built for commercial use. 2008 Introducing Etherea: Panasonic creates a new concept of air conditioning systems which boasts high efficiency and high performance with a great design. These systems also include an innovative air quality sensor and air purifier so healthy air can be enjoyed at home.

2010 Panasonic establishes its Aquarea line, an innovative, low-energy air-to-water heat pump system, designed to help homeowners enjoy ideal temperatures and hot water, even with extreme outdoor temperatures. This innovation promises a clean, safe, cheap and environmentally friendly alternative to gas, oil and other electrical systems to heat the home.

2011 Panasonic’s VRF solution for large, commercial buildings is launched as the most efficient solution in the industry.

2012 New GHP units are developed. Panasonic’s gas-driven VRF systems are created for projects where power restrictions apply. In 2012, this line was extended with a
