Health risks associated with excessive body fat

Many adults in the UK are either overweight or obese. In fact, according to a 2011 Health and Social Care Information Centre survey, 61.5% of people in England aged 16 and over were overweight or obese, with around a quarter of those classed as obese.

Obesity is closely linked with a number of other chronic diseases.
