Health risks associated with excessive body fat
Many adults in the UK are either overweight or obese. In fact, according to a 2011 Health and Social Care Information Centre survey, 61.5% of people in England aged 16 and over were overweight or obese, with around a quarter of those classed as obese.
Obesity is closely linked with a number of other chronic diseases.

The UK government identifies the top four health risks associated with obesity as:
High blood pressure (hypertension)
Coronary heart disease (CHD)
Type 2 diabetes Osteoarthritis
