Young Professionals

Quiz night We generally tend to network with other surveying firms, so as

part of the Young Guns initiative we decided to invite companies from different sectors in order to expand our contact base. We hosted teams from Bond Dickinson, AXA, Mott MacDonald (who put in two teams), Arup and Handelsbanken which gave us a good spread of lawyers, planners, bankers and engineers. At the end of each round members from Colliers swapped

teams to ensure that we met everyone who attended the event. We provided food and drink and many people stayed long after the quiz. We received great feedback from the teams, and it was a good opportunity to explain the services that Colliers can provide to those we have not previously worked alongside. Te evening was an overall success, with a great turnout of 30

people. Our quiz winners were the Mott MacDonald team who were awarded with the Magnum of Champagne.

Business West

Initiative lunch Colliers hosted a Business West initiative lunch

in October bringing together many companies and organisations central to the growth of the West Country. Around the table were Bristol’s Deputy Mayor, a senior representative from Bristol Airport, the CEO of North Somerset Enterprise Agency, the Director of external affairs and special projects from the Bristol Port company (as well as senior representatives from Bailey’s Caravans and Nesbits). We talked about the impact of Brexit and the regional Devolution Deal on the South West. Te general tone was upbeat despite Bristol Airport being worried about “staycations” whereas this was a bonus for the Colliers Hotels team! All in all, it was a fascinating lunch.
