Record Breakers!
Our colleague from the Birmingham office,
Director Simon Summerby-Bent, teamed up with Smooth Radio and Rybrook BMW Warwick to make a new Guinness World Record of driving the UK end-to-end in an electric car, in the shortest time with least amount of charging stops. Setting off from Land’s End at 2pm on Sunday 31 July, they travelled 886 miles to arrive in John O’Groats at 3:41pm on Monday 1 August. Completing the challenge in a record- breaking 25 hours and 41 minutes, the team shaved 2 hours and 5 minutes off the previous record. Well done team!
North West Children’s Lakes holiday
Over the summer, 60 Colliers staff from around the
country took part in ‘Tour de Lakes’ - an 186 mile bike ride around the beautiful Lake District. Between them they raised over £12,000 for the North West Children’s Support group which helps disabled and disadvantaged children. Ben Jones from the Bristol office went to deliver the cheque and join one of their annual Water Park Centre holidays. “Te day was brilliant and it was a privilege to be involved with tthe charity,” said Ben. “To see first-hand the fantastic work they do is wonderful; allowing children to be children, have fun and experience things I’m certain they would not otherwise have the opportunity to do, due to their background or disabilities”.
