Spotlight magazine celebrates the South West and Wales as being one of the most desirable locations to live and work in the UK.
In this edition, we feature John Hirst, head of Destination Bristol, who looks at how Banksy and Shaun the Sheep have helped to build Bristol’s reputation as a creative city. We also highlight the importance of food to Bristol’s economy and lifestyle with talented chef and entrepreneur Josh Eggleton, who runs one of the many Michelin-starred restaurants in this region.
Tis beautiful part of the UK has produced many outstanding sportsmen and women, and this was very much in evidence at the 2016 Olympic Games in
Rio. Among those to return home in triumph was Team GB hockey player Lily Owsley of Bristol, who recounts her experience of winning a gold medal.
Not only is the South West home to some of the most talented people in the UK, it is also the location of numerous exciting property developments and
initiatives. We are delighted to have a guest article from Gavin Bridge of Cubex Land, the developers behind the mixed-use Finzels Reach scheme in Bristol, which includes the Aurora office development - currently the only speculative office building under construction in the city.
We also hear from Dale Vince, founder of green energy company Ecotricity, which is behind the ambitious Eco Park scheme that aims to provide state-of the-art sporting facilities, a green technology business park, and a new home for football club Forest Green Rovers.
In addition, we examine the long-awaited Bristol Arena, which will bring a 12,000 capacity entertainment venue in the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone.
