Brunch is served daily at Cherry Circle Room, where food from Peter Coenen and cocktails from Paul McGee combine for a wonderfully delicious meal. While you peruse the menu, start with the CCR Milk Punch—coffee mixed with bourbon, rum and milk—then try a smoky Red Snapper alongside Scotch eggs made with lamb sausage. By the time the fried-egg-topped crab cake or gooey triple cheeseburger arrives, you’ll be ready for a refreshing gin fizz made with Earl Grey tea. DEFEAT YOUR HANGOVER AU CHEVAL
When you’ve had one too many Malört shots the night before, hangover grub is the quickest way to recover. Au Cheval is your best bet—try the English breakfast (creamy scrambled eggs, Texas toast, bacon and baked beans) or the chilaquiles (big enough for two, with warm salsa, guac and pickled onions). You’ve had enough standard vodka-and-tomato- juice concoctions to last a lifetime—try these riffs on the classic brunch cocktail for something new. At Cherry Circle Room, the Red Snapper uses both gin and sherry for an herbal, savory morning bracer. Skip the tomatoes at Cantina 1910, where the Green Bloody Mary is a bright, vegetal mix of salsa
verde, pickled jalapeño juice and vodka. The pickled- vegetable and chicken-skin garnishes are genius additions. At Dove’s Luncheonette, Dove’s Bloody Maria, made with reposado tequila, smoked black pepper and hellfire bitters, is a spicy and smoky drink that pairs perfectly with the Tex-Mex menu.
