siNteso™ Fire detectioN systeMs Siemens

Siemens unique Sinteso™ fire detection systems save lives, protect organisations and safeguard reputations.

Sinteso surpasses the requirements of EN54 with superior detection, not only delivering full protection across all buildings, but also ensuring zero risk of false alarms and the subsequent disruption. Devices are designed to operate in extremely demanding environmental conditions where immediate and accurate fire detection is vital to life safety and business continuity.

Each smoke, flame, heat and carbon monoxide detector is configured with a unique set of parameters for each location. Even before smoke is visible, innovative ASATechnology dual wavelength technology detects minute smoke particles and will provide an instant fire alert. Importantly, it also determines false fire phenomena due to issues such as toasters, poor housekeeping, airborne particles, welding, humidity and temperature change, and will not alarm in these instances.

Each device is highly intelligent and 100% reliable and can easily be adapted to reflect environmental changes in room usage. If there is power failure during a fire, there is no loss of device and alarms are still reported even in degrade mode; sounders still operate and cause & effect works throughout the entire fire system network.

BS5839-1 requires regular testing of fire systems and this process means organisations often lose coverage across protected areas, making out of hours testing is the only viable option. In contrast Sinteso systems incorporate a ‘Total Building Test’, meaning fire technology can be checked without any loss of coverage and within normal working hours, without risking unwanted evacuations.

SiteZone INstant is the first wireless, radio frequency identification (RFID) proximity warning system of its kind to be supplied and distributed in the UK. It enables on-the-spot protection against collisions between pedestrians and vehicles, mobile equipment, or hazardous areas on any site.

Developed from the original SiteZone proximity warning system, the INstant adds a new dimension by being completely wireless, allowing for immediate use and protection without the need for a hard- wired installation.

SiteZone INstant can be mounted and activated, as required, within a few minutes, making it ideal for short-term deployment. It can be fitted to delivery vehicles coming into a busy depot or construction site where the danger of reversing into a pedestrian is increased. It can also be mounted quickly on forklifts, or large, mobile plant vehicles, even if they are utilised on a site just for one day.

Both systems use a two-way RFID warning device; the pedestrian and vehicle transmitters communicate with each other, providing a full 360-degree detection zone and the ability to see around corners. The on-board receiver detects the location of RFID tag-wearing personnel and alerts the driver and pedestrian to each other’s presence to prevent a collision between the two.

Furthermore, SiteZone INstant allows for the creation of independent safety zones in any given space. It ‘cordons’ off any dangerous areas, alerting anyone in the vicinity when they come to close.
