GROSVENOR SERVICES INCREASE BUSINESS PERFORMANCE WITH INTELLIGENT

TECHNOLOGY SERVICES Grosvenor Services has launched a specialist technology division to help businesses get the most from their technology-based systems, from fire and life safety, to energy management and security solutions.

The growth in technology-based systems provides organisations with a previously untapped means of boosting performance. Grosvenor Services’ technology services team has extensive knowledge of how to harness the benefits of these systems to help reduce costs, optimise operations and improve efficiency, through a joined-up approach. The team is headed by Ian Campbell, who has significant expertise in designing and delivering intelligent technology solutions.

Ian Campbell, Technology Services Director at Grosvenor Services, said:

REACH NEW LEVELS Members of the team responsible for cleaning at Bicester Village, a luxury shopping destination in the Oxfordshire countryside, are being upskilled through a new training programme.

Five retail cleaners from Grosvenor Services, who are part of the 40-strong team responsible for cleaning luxury shopping destination Bicester Village, are undergoing a staff development initiative delivered by Preston-based training specialist Jigsaw Training.

Jigsaw Training has joined forces with Grosvenor Services on a pilot programme in retail facilities management.

“We’re really excited to have launched this forward-looking division. With the growing complexity of technology systems in a typical commercial building it can be hard to ensure efficient use and the best return on investment. This technology can and should be used more intelligently.”

Through a consultation process, the technology division works with organisations to develop sophisticated, end-to-end solutions which meet their business needs, now and in the future. This covers design, configuration, installation and maintenance, with comprehensive testing before

offering them opportunities to further develop their skills and to progress in their careers. This new training programme shows our commitment to our people.

“These members of staff have shown how keen they are to develop and have embraced this opportunity. This training will help them to reach their full potential.

“Ensuring our staff are trained to the highest standards and are encouraged to continually develop is a benefit to them and their future careers, our company and our customers.”

During the pilot programme, employees will work towards a BIFM qualification in levels two and three, which takes 12 months to two years to complete.

The topics they will cover during the training include procurement, budget management, corporate social responsibility and building maintenance.

James Blackhurst, Managing Director of Jigsaw Training, added: “It’s great for the staff at Grosvenor Services being given the opportunity of developing skills and through an employer who is keen to commit to them.

“This group has been identified as potentially being some of Grosvenor Services next generation of managers and the training we deliver will enable them to get a step closer to that goal. We will ensure they receive the relevant support so they get the most out of this programme.”

the system is installed, but, more importantly the team use the data generated to develop intelligent solutions to business issues.

Ian explained: “Our technology solutions provide critical information to organisations, giving valuable insights to improve performance. For instance, the information generated by security and surveillance systems can be used to manage other facility services, like cleaning provision, more effectively. If a room isn’t used as much as others, it may not require the same regularity or intensity of cleaning.

“As a company, we’ve continued to grow by assessing what our customers and the market need and want, and delivering on this. Technology is the enabler of greater efficiency, but it needs to be supported by a solid understanding of an organisation’s environment and backed by reliable people services.”

The new division enhances Grosvenor Services’ comprehensive facilities services offering for its customers and can also be offered as a stand-alone solution for all business sectors.
