What has been the highlight of your career so far?

The day I was offered a job at RenaissanceRe was the highlight of my career. I had been working for a competitor before, and had spent many hours studying RenaissanceRe’s annual report to figure out the secrets to their success. This was a company with a reputation for excellence and an outstanding track record of superior performance. When I started there, of course, I saw for myself that its reputation was merited. The biggest challenge for me is the ever-changing dynamics of our industry, but it’s also what motivates me: finding innovative, market- relevant solutions for our clients. The increasing convergence of the capital markets and traditional reinsurance, for example, is one of the prevalent themes in our market, currently. RenaissanceRe is well-positioned to assist clients in this market because it offers a suite of innovative products to match risk with the most efficient capital, something the company has actually been doing for years. It is exciting to be able to bring these proven products to our clients in today’s market, as well as to work on new ones.

What are your career aspirations now?

My aspiration is to continue to add value here at RenaissanceRe. I have been with the company for 13 years now and the company is in better shape than ever. One of the ways I would like to continue to add value is to play a bigger role in helping women in our company reach their highest potential. ■
