Like most executives I am challenged with maintaining the right work-life balance. We work in a very demanding and rewarding industry. I have always been very driven and achievement orientated. I try to keep a balance by having a plan and prioritising. Surrounding yourself with positive people is key too. I am fortunate to work in a high performance team who support and encourage each other. But there are always times when I need to remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day and it’s time to put down the pen or iPhone.

If you had chosen a different profession/career path, what would it have been?

Early on I considered becoming a lawyer. I enjoyed reading law at university and have always enjoyed a good debate or discussion that challenges the status quo or argues another perspective. These days I rarely win a negotiation with my four-year-old daughter so perhaps it’s just as well I didn’t follow law. ■
