LIVE24SEVEN // Travel T RAV E L NEWS - MAY

Chill with Whalesharks, or party in Ibiza

Looking for something a little different this year, we have two great ideas that are sure to get the adrenaline pumping, for the more adventurous swim with Whale-shark's on the west coast of Australia or if you are looking closer to own start the party season in Ibiza.

MAY ON THE WESTERN COAST

OF AUSTRALIA… May is the beginning of the dry season in most of Western Australia. Head to Exmouth for the Whaleshark festival which marks the return of these gentle marine giants to Ningaloo Reef, jump a boat trip and see them bask over the reef. Further south, the Moondyne Festival celebrates the life of Moondyne Joe, Western Australia’s legendary bushranger who had eth ability to slip out of his prison cell. This annual celebration on the first Sunday in May is always a spectacle, you’ll witness re-enactments of Joe and his gang running around the town robbing stores, as well as coppers, floozies and swaggies!!!!

PACK:

Leonor Greyl’s Travel Kit for Coloured Hair protects highlighted and syed hair against prolonged sun exposure. It comes in a clear zipped pouch perfect to slip in your travel bag! £34 net-a-porter

IBIZA ROCKS!

With the clubs starting to open in late May and the promoters following shortly after – it’s a really exciting time to head to Ibiza. The Opening Parties are generally some of the busiest of the year with each club trying to deliver the best, biggest and most talked about opener of the season! You’ll find some of the biggest DJ names on the planet flown out to do sets and launch the season with big productions.

One to put in your diary is the Ushuaia Opening Party, our editor stayed there in a suite that overlooked the main stage, if budget allows opt for one of these rooms and host your own party on your balcony rather than push and shove your way through the lively crowd!

Alternatively stay at Pikes, uber cool and this year boasting a new look Freddie’s, this well-known haunt will deliver impromptu DJ sets whilst you’re basking around the pool as many of the Ibiza regulars and performers stay here for the summer.
