the lead city. We are planning a range of exciting

projects and events under the banners of Arts and Culture, Education, Heritage and Maritime, culminating in a week of spectacular events - music, theatre and a river pageant - in the summer of 2020. Details of our projects and more information can be found on our website: http://www. dartmouthmayflower.uk/, where you can also sign up for our newsletter and regular updates of events. It is anticipated that as part of

Mayflower 400, Dartmouth will attract visitors from the UK and abroad which will stimulate the local economy and will

also provide some local employment as a result. This event is all about involving the

community and we plan to involve community groups to work on different aspects of our projects which will bring people together and will generate a

sense of pride in our town. Some of our projects will leave a positive legacy in the town for years to come.

What is Mayflower 400 Dartmouth? Mayflower 400 Dartmouth is a charitable organisation that has been set up to deliver projects and events for the Mayflower 400 commemoration and is part of Mayflower 400 uK. Patrons include Lord Devon, Sir Geoffrey Newman and Sarah Wollaston MP, and the project as a whole has support from the Prime Minister, Theresa May. Mayflower 400 Dartmouth

Based in Dartmouth, our experienced instructors will help you have a fantastic day exploring this spectacular coast. The kayaks are stable and easy to paddle so kids as young as five can join in the fun!

With no noise or waves, a kayak is a great way to see lots of marine wildlife: • Seals

Links with USA and The Netherlands The Mayflower Story is inextricably linked to the USA and the Netherlands and Dartmouth have already benefitted from two visits in March from Acting US Ambassador Lewis Lukens, Cultural Attaché Vince Murphy and Press Officer Laura Saarinen (pic. above) who thoroughly enjoyed visiting BRNC and their tour of the town. Visits such as this help to forge links between our two countries and to encourage educational and cultural exchanges and we hope there will be further visits before 2020.•
