My Favourite Places: A photographer’s view by Nick Shepherd. Thurlestone
As a keen landscape photographer, I endeavour to capture the warmth and softness of the light at sunrise and sunset. These times are often referred to as the golden hours and are a prime period to photograph the ever-changing moods of the South Hams coast. The beautiful light on these occasions en- hances the saturation of any red hues which are present and the low angle of the sun casts long deep shadows. The latter provides a natural depth and scale to the landscape vista.
