Dartmouth Galleries May Exhibitions Joyous at Baxters I

n these uncertain times Baxters has chosen an exhibition of work from 26th May which will inject some joy into your

day. The show features various mediums and 8 artists and makers from across the UK. Their work would lift any space and will be sure to bring a smile to your face. Renowned machine embroiderer Linda Miller has

enjoyed the show theme and has created some truly joyous scenes many incorporating a local view. Her work has sold worldwide and is within the permanent textile and dress collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Paintings will be shown by Scottish artist and keen sailor

Morag Lloyds with vibrant still life acrylics and local artist and jeweller Nancy Pickard who will bring sea-life and abstract canvases as well as a wide collection of her popular silver and enamel necklaces and earrings. Ceramics are shown in a variety of formats. Hilke

MacIntyre creates figurative ceramic relief panels which can be used inside and out. She is also a printmaker and a selection of her linocuts will be on show too. Local maker, Sarah McCormack from Plymouth has created a wonderful selection of hand built ceramic sculptures, some on wheels, which are raku fired and beautifully glazed. Lincoln Kirby Bell from Cornwall is well known in Baxters and his coloured slip spotty pottery is always in demand. This exhibition gives him a chance to create some larger pieces and different patterns for some statement pieces. In other mediums Amanda Anderson’s mosaic menagerie of birds and other creatures are hand made using stained

A menagerie in wordplay will be a collection of papier mache creatures by Tania Holland. Each sculpture has a punny message which results in a definite talking point and centre piece.
