In a memorable meditation, I went to the Temple Retreat of Archangel Jophiel. It is a com- pletely transparent building, seemingly formed entirely from glass. Stars can be seen through the roof so that the wisdom found there is not closed off or disconnected from the Universe. Rooms are large and open-plan, air currents move amongst them bringing fresh ideas and concepts that continually adapt and change. There is a great sense of freedom here. Where Time has no relevance, we can turn our thoughts to the expanse of every Universe, to where all wisdom and understanding is available to anyone.
Jophiel invited me to play ‘hide and seek’! I thought ‘where to hide in a place that is com- pletely transparent?’ But he went to hide first and I really couldn’t find him, I searched behind every pillar and through every arch. Then I saw one gold wing spread out from behind a pillar! But he found me every time even though I tried to alter my vibration and my appearance, to ‘disappear’.
He put his arm around my shoulders and his wings disappeared. “I’m not as good at this game, as you are,” I said “Clearly!” He laughed, “But then I have had more practice.” He said that it demonstrates how we choose our appearance, whether we blend in or stand out from the crowd, and that we can change. He knew that in the past I had wished to be taller, thinner, younger, and with thicker hair etc. He asked me how would I wish to look now, bearing in mind what I do. “Just as I do look, I think. Maybe slimmer, but I’m happy that I appear normal, I fit in, I’m comfortable, and approachable.” I replied.
We walked out to the gardens where all the colours are translu- cent as if the grass, flowers and shrubs are formed out of gem- stones, cut, carved, polished and sparkling. Roses that looked like clear crystal but as the sun shone through them, they reflect- ed beautiful golden light. It reminded me instantly of Honey Calcite. I complimented him on creating such a stunning garden. “I didn’t” he replied. “You did!”
All Calcites offer the chance to have a fresh look at life, viewing it with ‘new eyes’, and to feel excitement at discovering new aspects to explore. It forms in a wide variety of colours and each has its own attributes, including Optical Calcite, which really does give a different view as light refracts back and forth through it, giving a double or ‘ghost’ image. Honey Calcite brings courage to step out of your comfort zone, widen your horizons and relish the experience of learning new things. At Jophiel’s Retreat is the Golden Flame of Illumination and Wisdom, and the glow from that Flame reminds me very much of this crystal.
Harmony, balance and healing are the attributes of Archangel Raphael, and I find these reflected in the properties of the Aventurines. These also form in a wide range of colours and all bring a balance of extremes, whether of the emotions or work/play time ratio, and energy levels generally. Green Aventurine in particular connects with Archangel Raphael. In finding balance and harmony, healing can take place.
Raphael helps us to look at and understand why we may become ill, why we hold on to energy that is no longer helpful to us. There are many lessons we learn by being ill and the way can heal ourselves using that knowledge and experience. Sometimes the fact of being ill at a certain time is what is important, giving us an opportunity to reflect, change or modify our plans or our energy system. This, he says, is the way to heal the complete self, rather than just to cure symptoms, but to understand the cause as well as the effect of any illness. Then he helps us to move on and become whole again. He said: “All the old ways of healing are changing now that you are encompassing many more
