There has been a strong start to 2017 with many businesses reporting continuing high levels of sales for some however margins are being squeezed as the level of inflation increases. Therefore the need to maximise productivity becomes crucial. It is timely that the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership has published its Green


Paper “Driving Productivity – The Heart of the South West” and the Chamber is preparing to promote practical advice through the new Business Improvement Event at the Theatre Royal. It is important that all Members focus on productivity to drive forward improved performance. The Chamber itself has also been focusing on productivity and effectiveness to ensure that all


Members get maximum value for their subscription. This has involved increasing the number and variety of event opportunities as well as establishing a working partnership with Exeter Chamber, the Plymouth Area Business Council and is starting discussions with other related bodies. The intention is to bring Devon businesses together to ensure that the economic power of the
