Name: Maria Chase Company: Chase Coaching and Facilitation Job Title: Managing Director

Tell us a bit about yourself and your career?

I have always been inspired and humbled by how incredibly brilliant people can be and have spent the past 20 years working in partnership, with what must now be thousands of people to support them reach their fullest potential. Starting out in education initially, I came across Applied Neuroscience five years ago and discovered how learning about the brain can change everything. What really surprised me was how simple and easily applied the tools, strategies and hacks are - it really isn’t rocket science, its Neuroscience.

Who are Chase Coaching? My colleague and I set up Chase Coaching and Facilitation two years ago to share these new ways of thinking and working with clients both here and in London. Offering free consultations and developing bespoke programmes tailored to meet specific company challenges, clients say it revolutionises how they organise their working day and that can actually get more done, with less effort. Feedback also enthuses about how effectively it decreases stress, a major challenge for professionals everywhere.

Following a networking buffet lunch and

exhibition, delegates returned to a presentation from Guy Watson, Founder of Riverford Organic Farmers and Dr Kevin Bishop of Dartmoor National Park before an afternoon panel discussion focusing on infrastructure and the planned improvements across the County. George Cowcher, Chief Executive of Devon Chamber of Commerce said: “It was great to see new and familiar faces returning to join us at the conference. It was fantastic to celebrate the affiliate partnerships, the reasons why business in Devon is flourishing and to gain feedback on the infrastructure within the county. The day was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed by all, we’d like to thank our sponsors for their continued support of Chamber events and look forward to welcoming our delegates back at next year’s event”.

How can Chase Coaching benefit other businesses? Companies can sometimes feel that training and coaching are a luxury they can’t afford; however what we offer enhances performance and increases productivity so clients find it actually saves them money and they feel the benefits in staff motivation immediately. We offer local businesses the opportunity to train alongside other companies also, to help offset cost. In this current economic climate, to stay competitive companies now have to achieve more, with less. So it is great to be able to share the latest science so that rather than working harder, people can simply work ‘smarter’ instead.
