New team at the helm of Tavistock Chamber of Commerce
A new dedicated team has been chosen to lead Tavistock Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber is hoping to increase its
membership and create a stronger voice and increased business opportunities by working with other chambers including Okehampton and Devon. Financial Advisor Mike Harper is taking over
the reins as Chairman from Neal Taynton-Young and Leanne Elliot, who is also a Financial Advisor, is the new Vice Chairman. The Secretary is Richard Cosgrave and the Membership Secretary is Office Manager Michelle Handley. The relatively new role of Social Media
Secretary will be carried out by digital marketing expert Clair Wellsbury-Nye and Annette- Baskerville-Smith will have a dual role as Treasurer and Lobbying Secretary. Assistant Principal of Tavistock College Philip
Ruse has joined the Chamber as Committee Support Member.
Cornish Mutal sign up as Chamber Patron
Cornish Mutual has been announced as the newest Patron of Devon Chamber of Commerce demonstrating their support of the business community in the County. Having recently opened a new office in
Devon at Hitchcocks Business Park, to help service the organisations growing Membership in East Devon, Somerset and Dorset, Cornish Mutual are continuing their expansion and enhancing their unique offering across the County. Cornish Mutual is the only general insurer
based in the South West of England. In 2012, Cornish Mutual gained ‘Chartered Insurer’
status and are the first mutual insurance company in the UK and the first insurer in the South West to achieve this level of recognition from the Chartered Insurance Institute. George Cowcher, Chief Executive at Devon Chamber of Commerce said: “Devon Chamber of Commerce is delighted to welcome Cornish Mutual as its newest Patron. The support from Patrons is invaluable to Devon Chamber and we look forward to working closely with the team. We plan to jointly facilitate some Health and Safety workshops allowing Devon Chamber Members to draw upon the expertise of the Cornish Mutual team.”
