SKILLS Careers fair sparks pupil ambition
Planning ahead and gathering tips and advice on future careers was the name of the game for pupils at an event at Mansfield’s Vision Studio School recently. Pupils in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13
welcomed representatives from industry and careers advisory services who were on hand to offer information about future employment and training at the careers market. Pupils were also invited to attend
mock interviews, which helped them develop their skills and confidence when going for future job interviews. Representatives from businesses such as HS2, Babington Group and Learndirect interviewed and coached pupils through the process. In attendance were Nottingham
University Hospitals, the Army, Vision Apprentices and West Nottinghamshire College as well as Nottinghamshire Police and the Universities of Nottingham and Derby. David Blackadder-Weinstein,
Content and Insight Manager, and Oliver Barker, Construction Manager at High Speed Two (HS2), were on hand to help students in their mock interviews.

to look through their first-ever CVs and show them how best to bring their skills and experience to life in a relevant way.”
Studio School Principal Chris
