CHAMBER EVENT IN FOCUS: MANUFACTURING & ENGINEERING CONFERENCE


This year’s conference looks at the role of UK manufactuing and engingeering in a post-Brexit economy, and will deliver a series of keynotes and expert panel discussions to examine the latest thinking, policy and projections for the regional and national economy.


The key themes of the conference will explore: • Creating a competitive edge • The use of technology to improve competitiveness and productivity • Skills - driving the UK towards a high-skilled, high-wage economy • Creating competitive supply chains


Speakers include representatives from Rolls-Royce, Vodafone, Jaguar Land Rover and Tomorrow's Engineers. The conference, which is free to attend and will take place on 4


April at Loughborough University, will be accompanied by an expo with exhibitor and sponsorship opportunities. Cost to exhibit - £75+VAT for members / £150+VAT for non-members.

The Chamber is proud to be the main event sponsor of Love Business Expo 2017. Love Business, taking place from


9am on 16 February at Donington Park, is now well established as a business-to-business networking exhibition with a difference and the largest of its kind in the Midlands. The expo, which expects to see


4,000 delegates and 200 exhibitors through its doors, brings business and personal development opportunities together in order to motivate, inspire and connect those in business. Free to attend, delegates can


register at www.lovebusinessexpo.co.uk. As well as being the main


sponsor, the Chamber will also sponsor three of the six industry sector zones – the Innovation, Technology and Sustainability zone, the Manufacturing and Engineering Zone and the Transport and Logistics zone. Representatives from the Local


Enterprise Partnerships (LEP) of Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire (D2N2) and Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) will


also be in attendance, as will those associated with the Digital Growth Programmes and D2 Business Starter Programme. Following the success of last


year’s launch at Love Business 2016, the Chamber will use the expo as an opportunity to launch its renowned Business Awards, the only awards in the region by business, for business. The 30-minute slot will include


an introduction from Chamber Chief Executive Scott Knowles, a speech from Groundworks engineering contractor Van Elle, a previous Business of the Year award winner, and a talk from insurance cover specialist Erskine Murray on the value sponsorship of the Chamber’s Business Awards can offer. Cloud 9 Event Management will


also be on hand to offer insights and tips on what makes a good Business Awards application.
