Cirencester Scene Magazine - Supporting Local Businesses 14 Year Old Local Skier Max Pini in England Alpine Squad
Max Pini, a fourteen-year-old ski racer from Bibury, Gloucestershire, has been selected to the England Alpine Ski Squad.
The talented skier, who attends Chel- tenham College, is currently trained by Ambition Racing and his goal for the coming 2016/2017 season is to improve his fitness and mobility levels, in order to achieve better race results.
Snowsport England Chief Executive and British Ski and Snow- board Board Director Tim Fawke comment- ed: “Max is one of our athletes who has followed the
talent pathway fromhis early years of ski racing and is well on track to achieve his potential.”
Max is hoping to spend as much time as possible train- ing and racing on-snow this winter with Am- bition Racing, before a busy summer of ski racing in the UK.

RAU Cirencester Mile raises £3,249 for Sport Relief
Earlier this year, the Sainsbury’s Sport ReliefMile in Cirencester saw local people running one, three or sixmiles in aid of Sport Relief. Themoney has been counted up and the Royal Agricultural University Cirencester Mile raised a total of £3,249.56.
This year’s Sport Relief was a record breaking year with the campaign raising a total of £72.5m. The money raised will help disadvantaged people liv- ing incredibly tough lives, across the UK and the world’s poorest communities.
Mark Long, RAU Gym Manager said: “We’re de-
lighted with the total amount of money we have raised this year. It’s brilliant to have been part of such a successful Sport Relief year and know we’re helping to make a difference to people’s lives.”
Jess Kirke, Events Manager at Comic Relief said: “We want to say a huge thank you to all of our lo- calmile organisers. Theywork tirelessly to organise successful events up and down the country and we are truly grateful for all their efforts and hard work - Sport Relief wouldn’t be the event it is without them.”
