Member of themonth Kay Ransom Photography gave a brilliant and joyous talk about her own business, and how it had grown and developed, and how being a Chamber member, attending regularly, had benefited her over the years.
This meeting had attracted nearly 50 people and proved very informative and popular.
The Breakfast Meeting the following week had a Christmassy theme to it. Following a passionate presentation by David Prewett and Peggy Tout from Cirencester Action on Buses, Cirencester College students Meghan and Casey gave a very confident talk about student Enterprise and in- viting all businesses to attend their networking day on 25th November. Details are on our web- site calendar.
Committee members Sally Russell and Clire Bloomer drew our attention to various festive events taking place. Wearing eye-catching out- fits as a Christmas tree and an elf, they certainly got our attention.
Mayor Mark Harris and Chamber committee member David Fowles brought us up to date with the re-generation scheme and various parking issues.
The Retail Forum The Town Council led by Mayor Mark Harris and in conjunction with the Chamber, held the first Retail Forum on October 4th at the Bing- ham Gallery. Around 60 retailers turned up and were extremely vociferous in their thoughts on the effect the town’s regeneration scheme, and the parking problems here, were having on their livelihoods.
Mark, as host, handled the higly fuelled audi- ence well, trying to move people forward into positive thinking and action about solutions, both long and short term. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday November 14th, Bing- ham Gallery 7 for 7.30pm. The regeneration work is due to be completed then, except for snagging, but will definitely be clear over the Christmas period for the town’s celebrations.
