Female Focus
I am wondering whether my father's sacred three trips a week to Javea Golf Club has anything to do with golf… Sat down for the first time with my father in the proper part of the restaurant with a mind boggling menu in front of me, I told him he probably had time for a few “putts” while I chose, but he stayed “put” in his chair... oggling the menu.

Unsurprisingly as this restaurant is run by mega professionals Jose Pina (manager) ex El Rodat, and Antonio Roja (chef) ex Parador. Yes Mr Yellow and Mr Red. Speaking of Reservoir Dogs if you have children to entertain (not with that movie obviously) they have their own reservoir filled with giant terrapins, babies sunbathing on mum's backs, beautiful carp, and foody sparrows. I lose my 6 year old for at least half an hour here when I visit. I call it natural science classes.
So, to “carp”on about the exquisite food. There are two 3 course menus, at 14€ and 18€. Every dish fizzing with finesse, hailed from high quality ingredients and classy combinations. On the 14€ menu, oxtail, duck or lamb ravioli, just to give you an idea.
I chose sashimi to start - very fresh, with seaweed, wasabi, sesame buds added to mayonnaise and guilt- free nut bread, sliced and toasted thinner than Naomi C. I followed with fresh salmon ravioli with a bonus potato and pumpkin sauce. Dad had a salad where we lost count of the ingredients, and then perfectly roasted baby goat. No “kidding”. Oh come on guys, most of you eat lamb…
The meals were beautiful and filling but for your benefit, readers, we forced down a pineapple carpaccio with meringue flavoured ice cream. It was way beyond above “par”.
This restaurant is expert at looking after large groups (up to 80) and has hosted many events, funerals and weddings. Please, charities and organisations, try this venue. The indoor space looks like a classy villa, and the tranquil terrace has views of lush green (obviously) and the entrancing elephant profile of the Montgo.
Visitors can play golf at probably the best 9 hole course in Spain, or tennis, very reasonably. No fishing though! Oh no, that's me.. If any single golfers would like to take me out to lunch here, I would willingly oblige. Or any tennis players for that matter. David Ferrer, are you reading this month's Female Focus?
