IN BRIEF We Are Cow

City living move pays dividends

Housebuilder Radleigh Homes’ decision to return to Derby’s city living market with a quality flats scheme is reaping dividends, with 50% of pre-showhome sales secured in less than three months. Located on the edge of the

Cathedral Quarter, Radleigh Homes’ Weavers Point development, on Lodge Lane, offers homebuyers contemporary city living. Half of phase one of the 35 luxury

apartment scheme has already been reserved by homebuyers and with excellent anticipated yields, the scheme is proving an attractive prospect for local investors too. Commenting on the success of

Sam Spencer, Associate at Bruton Knowles

the scheme to date, Tom Finnegan, Joint Managing Director of Radleigh Homes, said: “To achieve 50% pre- showhome sales less than three months is absolutely tremendous.”

Frankie Labbate, Associate Director at FHP’s Nottingham office, has been retained by vintage fashion retailer We Are Cow to acquire retail outlets across the UK. We Are Cow launched in Birmingham in 2005 and now has six stores, including one in Nottingham, and 40 concessions. Frankie said: “The firm is

looking to expand nationally, with all opportunities considered, particularly university towns and cities, with a specific focus on Greater London. “We’re looking for

environments that replicate the locations of their existing stores.” We Are Cow wants units of

1,500sq ft to 3,000sq ft with at least 1,000sq ft of storage space.

Nott forgotten

National funding has been secured for a new design competition which will have competitors’ architectural ideas come to life in Nottingham city centre. The Nott Forgotten challenge

has been created by the Nottingham & Derby Society of Architects (NDSA) and will focus on five less-cared-for spaces in the Lace Market - St Mary’s Gate, Wing Walk, Hollowstone, Adam’s Walk and High Pavement. Open to all architectural firms,

universities and schools in the East Midlands, participants must submit designs to transform a site.

New owners for historic school

One of Leicester’s oldest schools has been sold to Leicester Grammar School. Stoneygate School, which is

based on a 45-acre site in Great Glen, provides pre-school, pre- prep and prep for boys and girls, feeding secondary schools in the Leicestershire and Rutland area. Business and financial adviser

Grant Thornton UK led the transaction.
