Commanding new property

City Gate House on St Margaret’s Way, Leicester

Law firm moves into former tax office

Rapidly expanding law firm Edward Hands and Lewis (EHL) was the first business to move into the former HMRC office building on St Margaret's Way, Leicester. City Gate House, prominently situated just off Leicester's inner ring

road, is now home to EHL's new dedicated commercial division, EHL Commercial Law. With 7,000sq ft of space, the building was let to the firm by commercial

property agent Innes England, acting with joint agent Jones Llang LaSalle. EHL has taken a five-year lease and invested £150,000 on refitting the

building to include a gym and break-out areas for its staff. Rik Pancholi, Head of EHL Commercial Law, said City Gate House was

the ideal site for the firm’s commercial activities. He said: “City Gate House is conveniently situated for our staff, clients

and visitors. It also has excellent on-site parking, which is difficult to find in the city centre.”

An international business specialising in industrial control systems has relocated to Bingham, Nottinghamshire, as a result of a deal brokered by property consultant Bruton Knowles. Commander Controls beat a number of other competitive

bidders to secure three connecting industrial units on Moorbridge Road, Bingham. Boasting more than 6,000sq ft and containing two floors

each, the units will be used for office space and electronic production by the company. Associate at Bruton Knowles’ Nottingham office,

Sam Spencer, worked on the deal. He said: “We are thrilled to have helped bring

an innovative and successful business to the Bingham area. “Bingham was a huge draw for both

Commander Controls and other bidders. Having previously been enhanced by the A46, the area is a great up-and-coming location for businesses in the East Midlands and the community is expected to grow even further over the next 12 months. “As a result, Bruton Knowles has recently secured a number of deals in the area.”
