JCB launches new machine

Construction equipment maker JCB has launched a new machine and created 85 jobs as production began last month. Developed in secret over three

years – known only as Project 710 – the new machine is called the Hydradig. It was unveiled at an equipment fair in Munich. The Hydradig is reportedly taking

JCB Chief Executive Officer Graeme Macdonald said:

the construction industry by storm, with hundreds of orders already placed. It is being made at JCB’s Heavy Products plant, in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. JCB Chairman Lord Bamford, who initiated the

‘Not only one of the most significant launches in the company’s history, it is also one of the most successful’

project, said: “Hydradig will transform the industry and I am certain customers will appreciate its benefits.”

“The launch of the Hyradig is not only one of the most significant launches in the company’s history, it is also one of the most successful.” Working closely with customers,

JCB carried out in-depth analysis of the potential applications for Hydradig, including utilities, highways, municipalities, general construction and landscaping. Chief Innovation and Growth Officer Tim Burnhope said:

“Visibility from the cab was the main customer consideration. Stability was next on the list, as machines are now being called upon to do an increasing amount of heavy lifting, not just excavating.”

Finding the solution next door

One Solution, a Newark-based commercial and industrial interior fit-out and refurbishment firm, needed more space. And it found the ideal property…

next door to its existing base on the Brunel Business Park.

Ian Lund, Managing Director, said:

“We needed more space to accommodate our ever-growing team and, by more than doubling our floor space with the unit next door, we have achieved that. “It has also given us an opportunity

to showcase our capabilities as an interior fit-out company, by utilising our own experienced installation teams to handle the move.” Chamber members are welcome

to go along and have a look at the new facility, Ian said.

King Street, is one of 30 high-potential agencies in the country and the only one from Leicester taking part in the three-day initiative, which helps businesses fast-track their growth plans through a series of strategic planning workshops. The search engine giant originally invited 250 UK agencies to apply for the exclusive programme before selecting its top 30, based on high performance in their respective fields and the ability to demonstrate potential growth. Ann Stanley (pictured),

founder and Managing Director of Anicca Digital, said: “Anicca has already seen significant growth in the past 12 months, doubling our monthly turnover and winning a number of new clients. “We have very ambitious

targets to further grow Anicca into one of the leading ecommerce marketing agencies in the UK. This would mean expanding to employ an additional 30 technical staff over the next three years and increasing our team from 20 to 50.”
