TRAVEL BACK IN TIME WITH OUR
CLASSIC SHIP
Sail back in time to 1964 on MS Lofoten and experience life along the coast as it was 50 years ago.
Take a journey with beautiful MS Lofoten where Hurtigruten’s heritage is the focus. This “grand lady” is the oldest vessel in our fleet, and now we have created these special voyages where you get to experience her splendour and charm to the fullest while travelling along the Norwegian coast.
Unique Old-World charm and ambience MS Lofoten was launched in Oslo in 1964. Now she is fully restored to reflect her prime in the roaring 1960s, with the nos- talgic atmosphere to reflect the era. With unique lounges and a separate panorama deck, she is simply incomparable, and she remains a firm favourite for many of our returning guests. The cabins on board are classic and functional. Enjoy the proximity to the coast, other guests and crew, and a strong sense of time- less, authentic adventure.
Try fishing from deck To enhance the experience of a journey in the past, you can join activities and excursions you do not get on a regular Hurtigruten voyage along the Norwegian coast. Try fishing from deck, visit exciting places and experience our coast in a different manner. Join ice swimming, attend quizzes along the way, auc- tions and a very special hat parade.
Old style menu The restaurant serves delicious four-course dinners that are inspired by the menus we had on board in the 60s. And as in 1960, all food is delivered from local suppliers from the ports we visit. To enhance the experience, waiting staff serve all the food from silver platters. In addition, sherry or aperitifs are often served before dinner. Join our alternative sailing routes and exciting activities and excursions that you do not get with the other Hurtigruten vessels. MS Lofoten visits the same 34 ports as on the other ships, but because she is smaller she will also visit otherwise inaccessible places.
