2015 Volusia County Fair & Youth Show
November 19, 2015—The
Volusia County Fair finishes with the best year ever as 192, 343 + people came through the gates which pushed our numbers up 13% from 2014 and the midway rides were up 20% this year giving the Fair their first Million Dollar year ever on the gross ride revenue. The Livestock Auction generated $165,000 and was down about 6%
from 2014 but had 22 less animals than last year. The dollars per pound were up considerably from last year. Credit for the tremendous increase in overall numbers this year is
given to the fantastic weather and hard work by the staff, board mem- bers and volunteers who put in some long hours and commitment to produce this great result. None of this would be possible without the support of our communi-
ty, partners and supporters that work tirelessly year round to produce such a special family friendly specific event. The John Anderson Concert had over 2500 people in the seats and on
The Sarasota County Agricultural Fair Association
hosts a variety of events on its grounds and Robarts Arena. The loca- tion of the fair situated on 65 acres within a mile of downtown Sara- sota make it the ideal site for a variety of events. On November 28, 2015, Robarts Arena hosted a Donald J. Trump
for President Rally. An estimated 12,000 people came out to see Mr. Trump deliver his stump speech. The attendance was such that the arena was filled to capacity
so we
created an out- door venue. Out- door participants were able to watch Mr. Trump arrive by helicopter and speak to them before proceeding to the inside rally. The Fair management thanks the Sarasota Police Depart- ment, Sarasota County Fire Department, Sarasota County Sher- iff’s Department, Trident Protection and Investigations, and the United States Secret Service for the compre- hensive planning in making this event safe.
Seniors Day the Coasters and the Crystals had a total of over 5,200 people show up to enjoy the two shows. The capacity of the Tommy Lawrence Arena is right at 3,000 people so we
crowd at all of our concerts. It is with great anticipation that we start
preparing for the 2016 Volusia County Fair & Youth Show which runs from November 3-13 next year. In the meantime we will be working on making your Volusia County Fair something to be proud of within the State of Florida and the Country. Keep up with the events all year by tex-
ting volusiafair to 64600 and by going to

We had a 30% increase in attendance over last year. This makes 5 years in a row we have had a record attendance and an in- crease for 7 consecutive years. That was with not opening one day due to a record rainfall for the day. Two years in a row we have had over $1 million in ride gross. Yea for us. Total number of fair visitors was over 142,000.
I wish I could definitively explain why the attendance keeps going
up. I think I know, but you know how that is. We had one day, second Saturday, that had 32,000 in one day. We have never had that many in one day here. That day, and the day before, we doubled over the previ- ous year, and the previous year was a record breaking year. After the first Sunday washout, I thought there was no way to break last year. Yes, it was a great year! Mark Harvey
