Local boy Cayle Royce has recently returned home to Dartmouth after leading the first all-amputee team in the gruelling talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge from the Canaries to Antigua. the 4 men and 3 legged Row2Recovery crew covered the 3000 miles in just over 46 days raising funds for 3 military charites - the endeavour Fund, Help for Heroes and Blesma. Respect from us all!


Coffee Couture Opens at the Flavel Centre After closing for a refit, the Flavel now has a new, vibrant coffee shop. As well as serving delicious coffees, teas, cakes and light meals every day, the cafe will open in the evenings to coincide with live events at the Flavel, serving a ‘grazing’ menu with a range of tasty, tapas-style, international dishes. Coffee Couture is a popular and expanding brand of coffee shops, which showcase products from a wholesale business supplying hotels, restaurants and cafés all across the country. their first coffee shop opened in Paignton last June and a further 5 are planned for 2016 across the south West. the team will be offering a catering service for weddings and other events in the area. Friends of the Flavel will be offered a gold loyalty card, which entitles them to 10% off hot drinks, in exchange for a small donation to one of the charities that the company supports.


new Community Defibrillator for Kingswear!


Kingswear has a new community defibrillator. Located by the post box in the Market square it is available 24/7 for anyone who should suffer a cardiac arrest in the area. this lifesaving equipment is accessible to anyone and can be used without any former training or medical knowledge. In the event of an emergency call 999 and the operator will give you the code to open the box which houses the defibrillator. thanks go to Kingswear Regatta Commitee, Dartmouth Holiday Homes, Manna From Devon, south Hams District Council and a host of local supporters for making it possible.
