suBaRu LeVORG

hen I told friends I was test driving the new Levorg, they had no idea what I was talking about!

that’s hardly surprising as the Levorg is a brand-new model, a sleek all-wheel-drive performance sports tourer from subaru. Available with only one engine choice and one trim level, the Levorg costs £27,495. With stand-out looks and superbly composed driving, it offers a credible alternative to similar models from Audi, VW and Volvo. the Levorg has charismatic

and pleasurable car to drive of any I have encountered in this class. You just settle back and let it eat up the miles. In fact, far from being jaded after over three hours behind the wheel, I felt I could carry on driving the Levorg right across europe! Levorg has plenty of exterior cachet, and the cabin has a premium look with leather seats with contrasting stitching, silvertone dashboard inserts and other detail touches. the seats are very comfortable with good lumbar support and the driving position is excellent. standard kit includes auto start-

conventional automatic and there are paddle shifts on the steering column. I found it a smooth responsive gearbox. What also impresses is

the composure of the Levorg. even at speed on tight corners it feels utterly reassuring with virtually no body roll, perhaps not too surprising when you realise the Levorg uses the same platform and some of the same suspension parts as subaru’s famous WRX sti model.

I did a 500 mile

round trip in the Levorg, embracing rural and city roads and a long motorway haul and I found it the most comfortable

to the sports tourer sector. It has potent styling, impressive driving dynamics and generous standard equipment.•
