A new board and a new way ahead for DDT
Dunblane Development Trust members elected their new Board at the AGM in October. New directors Barbara Allan, Christine Campbell and Katherine Novosel were welcomed on to the Board, and we said farewell to directors Tim Hughes, Chair of the Development Trust for the last 4 years, and to Janice Stewart who has, amongst other things, been Treasurer and Convener of the Environment Group during her time on the Board. Both Tim and Janice have given outstanding service to the DDT and the Dunblane community and we thank them for all their eff orts.
The new Offi ce Bearers are: Chair – Roy Nicolson Vice Chair – Alan Cessford Secretary – Katherine Novosel Treasurer – Ian Gill
The Board has recently been examining the way forward for the Trust over the next three years and spent a day in November at Old Churches House assessing progress and working on ideas and future plans.
The
DDT’s purpose is to enable Dunblane to be welcoming, enterprising and well connected, with a fi rst class cultural and physical environment.
Directors and key members of the DDT action groups at their Strategy Planning day in November
We aim to do this by: • Developing and delivering projects - that respond to community needs and aspirations • Working in partnership - with local groups, Stirling Council and other partners • •
Providing quality volunteering opportunities - for all ages and abilities Securing funding & resources – by generating income, accessing grants and fundraising
We currently have around 400 members, which is only 6% of the population aged over 16 years – all of whom are eligible to join. Our target it to have at least 10% of our population as members, and then we feel we will be more representative of our community.
Being a member of DDT is really important and means: •
• •
you are supporting all the good work that already goes on – looking after the parks, play areas and paths; running the Braeport Centre; planting all the tubs and fl ower beds; putting up the Christmas lights and keeping the town tidy; providing volunteer opportunities around the town for all ages.
you can vote for the Board of directors and make sure that they are running the Trust for the benefi t of the community
you can help make projects happen – your suggestions of what is important in Dunblane may improve the quality of life in Dunblane for everyone who lives here
