big part of the excitement of travelling is experi- encing new places and eating at new restaurants. In fact, when we tell others about our travels, food often becomes part of the story about why
we liked or disliked somewhere we visited. At Winnipeg Richardson International Airport, we believe the travel ex- perience begins when you arrive at the airport and we want to ensure that your dining experiences are enjoyable. With that in mind, the airport recently refreshed a number of air- port restaurants in the passenger boarding areas. New in the domestic and international passenger board- ing lounge, located just opposite passenger screening, are Prairie Bistro and Skylights Lounge. Prairie Bistro offers a mix of hearty breakfast selections such as skillets, pancakes, oatmeal, and lighter selections like yogurt and fruit. Lunch options include soups, salads, burgers and sandwiches. For dinner, enjoy one of Prairie Bistro’s entrees or share a couple of appetizers with your travelling companions. Te Spinach and Artichoke Dip comes highly recommended. Situated just next to Prairie Bistro is Skylights Lounge with a full bar and comfy seating area. It’s an excellent place to relax, enjoy

a beverage, listen to music and gaze out onto the airfield. As we settle into winter, the food court area across from gate 8 will be transformed to feature a larger seating area and two new quick-serve counters: True Burger and Freshii. True Burger delivers just what their name promises, juicy burgers with all the toppings, foot-long hotdogs and French fries. Tey also offer a few breakfast options. For those looking for something a bit more wholesome, Freshii offers soups, sal- ads, wraps, bowls, burritos, juices, smoothies and frozen yo- gurt. All of their menu items are jam-packed with fresh in- gredients like avocados, roasted red peppers, carrots, onions, tomatoes, edamame, cilantro, and almonds, just to name a few. Are you getting hungry yet? New in the transborder (U.S.) passenger lounge is Ur- ban Crave and their expanded bar area. Urban Crave offers breakfast, appetizers, salads, sandwiches and “Haute Dawg” platters. Te Shrimp and Chorizo Quesadilla and Chicken Lettuce Wraps on the appetizer menu sound especially tasty! So next time you come down to the airport, be sure to ar-
rive hungry. You can eat before your flight or order it to go and enjoy it on the plane.
