SIGN News Signmaker wins two awards

Lee Eaton, who designs signs and graphics for Team Sky, Team Wiggins and Great British Cy- cling, was the big winner at the 2015 bfa HSBC Franchisee of the Year Awards, supported by Ex- press Newspapers. Lee won both the 'B2B' category and was

named Overall Winner at the awards, for his 'hugely successful' franchise, Signs Express Manchester, based at Trafford Park. Lee and his team of 17 employees regularly

travel around Europe to carry out their work with Team Sky. And following the 2014 and 2015 Tour De France win, the team rebranded support vehicles overnight with the winner's yellow graph- ics for the last celebratory stage of the tour through Paris. Andy Brattesani, head of franchising at

HSBC, said:"To still be consistently growing in a competitive sector after nearly 20 years is testa- ment to Lee's attitude and absolute belief in his staff; he even bought in a cut-out of them all to be with him at the judging! That's typical of his ethos and focus on his team, which has been crucial in delivering outstanding results and a willingness to go the extra mile."

Become a sign hero at European Sign Expo 2016!

Sign enthusiasts can soar toward European Sign Expo 2016 at the RAI Amsterdam, 8-11 March 2016. The fourth European Sign Expo will

have its own dedicated hall (Hall 2), due to unprecedented growth in visitor traffic at the last show. It's co-located with FESPA Digital 2016, FESPA Textile and Printeriors. European Sign Expo will provide signmakers with the opportunity to see the latest technologies, products and innovative software come to life, such as: dimensional and architectural signage; channel lettering; illuminated LED and neon displays; and digital signage. The theme of the 2016 show is 'sign

heroes'. A spokesperson said: "ESEman will lead visitors through the show; visually strik- ing he is strong and communicative. He de- livers impactful messages through signage, and is part of a powerful team alongside

Digiman and Textilewoman. The sign heroes will have their own base in ESE at the Sign Hub, where educational seminars and hands-on demonstrations will be taking place and technical ex- perts will be available to answer any questions." The 2014 expo saw a visi-

tor increase of 540 per cent com- pared to the first show in 2013 held on London. Which 'demonstrates the huge growth potential for signmakers and signage purchasers'. With 42 exhibitors al- ready confirmed for 2016's event, visitors cannot afford to miss it! Roz McGuinness, Divisional Director,

FESPA, said: "The post-show visitor data from Cologne, stating a 540 per cent increase, says it all. Traditional and digital signage is an extremely competitive and

lucrative market. Alongside the technologies on display, European Sign Expo 2016 aims to provide those within the signage industry with insights to where the signage industry will go next, through an engaging mix of debates and presentations on key issues; coupled with hands-on workshops."
